Yarraville-Footscray Bowling Club played a Saturday Pennant practice game against Altona last Saturday at Yarraville-Footscray.
It was a near perfect day for both clubs to have this important practice game with 168 bowlers taking part on the day.
Both clubs agreed over the winter that this day would be a annual event and a trophy be played for. It was decided by the clubs that the trophy be named after 2 members who have been involved at Altona & Yarraville-Footscray.
It was decided the trophy be called the John Hurst & Wayne Roberts Perpetual Trophy.
After the day was completed we had the following results.
Side One Yarraville-Footscray 88 v Altona 62
Side Two Yarraville-Footscray v Altona 91 v 78
Side Three Yarraville-Footscray v Altona 75 v 81
Side Four Yarraville-Footscray v Altona 80 v 77
Side Five Yarraville-Footscray v Altona 109 v 52.
John Hurst is pictured above presenting the trophy to Wayne Roberts after the games had been completed.
Altona will host this event next year, and we all look forward to playing this practice game there.
